Buffalo, NY Knife restrictions?

My bro's gonna stay in Buffalo, NY for one year. He's 16. I was wondering if I can get him a new knife for his birthday - he left his delica at home cause we weren't sure if it was legal or not.

Buffalo is a long way away from the brutal laws of NYC, so your brother shouldn't have any issues carrying his Delica. Most of the laws in this neck of the woods are somewhat strict, however they are rarely enforced. In the 34 years of my life in the Buffalo area I have NEVER heard of someone being arrested JUST for having a knife... now, if you're talking about people being arrested for other charges (DWI comes to mind) and being found with a knife in their possession, you can expect something like this to be held against them.

Bottom line (for the most part)... stay out of trouble, and the knife won't be an issue.

If your brother is as big of a dumbass as I was at 16, don't send him the knife!

In most of upstate, intent has everything to do with it. carrying is seldom Illegal.
