Bulldog brand

Love my Dogs...I have no complaints other than on my newest 3rd generation there was a bit of blade wobble but it was used so who knows.

I have 2 bulldogs, one stag Wharncliffe whittler, carbon with blade etch, and a stainless moose with waterfall celluloid. I cannot stand the celluloid, but just love the knife. I think they are a good deal for the money.

Absintheur, I really like that black&yellow cell knife on the extreme left:thumbup:

Looks like some kind of tropical beetle:D:eek:

I have three Dogs: 2 Serp Jacks in cell/acrylic one is really pretty but the fit&finish is frankly poor-springs ticking up roughly when opened and I can't get much edge on them:mad: The Arizona saddle knife is properly finished, a nice slim single blade, but, the scale handle is the colour of cheap teenie nailpolish, not so hot.

I have ~ 30(?) Bulldogs. the stag handled ones from early '80s are the most attractive best made of the bunch.
i have never used one so i don't know how the blades perform.
i have read other posts stating the steel is too soft to take a good edge, but these may have been just a couple with a poor heat treatment.
"one day" i plan to try to put a really good narrow edge on one of these knives and see what happens.
the newest Bulldogs are made by GEC and should cut well. i have 1 of these in a 3" bone Barlow.

I picked up this (2007) Bulldog for my son for Christmas. The walk & talk was just fine as was the f & f. As far as the steel, I can't say, as I haven't seen the knife since...

Some beauties there Absintheur.

Markksr, that son of yours is a lucky lad.

Here's the only one I have. It's a firm favourite as far as I'm concerned. Carbon Steel in stag.

Well balanced in the hand and even though it's far from new the f & f is still top drawer.

I have that same knife. Are the springs a little on the light side of yours?

Funny you should say that. Yes they are a lttle on the light side for me, but then I like a really firm spring. They're not light enough to cause any concern or problem in use and the snap is good and loud, but I suppose it's all about personal preferences.

My only Bulldog. F&F is not quite up to Case Sodbuster standards but it is well made. This one holds an edge very well but is a bugger to sharpen. It will never replace my Case soddies but all in all a nice occasional user.

I have 5 of them, but the only one I carry is a little MOP Whittler that I use as a dress knife every now and then. Good looking and cuts like it should. I havent had to sharpen it yet but havent cut alot with it either.
