Bulletin: Shopping site fiasco.

I've received a few emails today telling me my shopping site is down. 7:15 and I've had time to check into it.

Seems Andale decided I needed a new address for my store and changed it without any good reason that I can see and without any notification. I love people like that.

The old address was this:

This is where all the links on the internet take you and it won't work anymore.

Here is the new address that nobody knows about except me:

http://www.andale.com/stores/sf_home.jsp?mode=1&sfUrl=himalayanimports

Now what to do? It takes Andale a week to respond to email.

Are they going to change the address back so I won't have to change every address on my website and in every search engine?

Or, after I lose a week's business are they going to tell me that I'm stuck with the new address because they wanted to change it?

Where's Beo?

I really don't need problems like this.

It has been that kinda day and NO, you truly don't need problems like this.
I just visted your "new" site, found it loads very slowly.

Perhaps a solution to the new address is to ask Andale to set up a site forward.
People who attempt to access your old address will notified and automatically be redirected to the new site.

I'm no computer genius and haven't a clue hopw to set this up but have been to many sites only to be redirected...

Tried to call Andale and nobody home as usual. Sent a couple of nasty emails telling them to change things back to original configuration. Of course, no response. The only thing they are very good at is taking their cut of the sales. They never miss and are never late.
 
a forward to the new site seems the least they could have done. Time to shop around? Time to stop payment? Surely there are other providers for the service you need.

look, this kind of stuff pisses me off. My neighbor decided to block our common drive and I am taking him to court. He has only done it because he likes trouble. It is for no reason and crazy, but lots of money that could have gone to Khuks and furniture for our house, and stuff for the coming baby, and I COULD GO ON..is shot to hell. So I'm not in a good mood about dickheaded organizations who take money from people for a service which they do not provide or dick headed neighbors who like to be mean.

Munk, things like that truly try men's souls. They had deals like that back in Kansas -- maybe everywhere -- one driveway that led to two garages and to trouble.

Good fences make good neighbors -- sometimes!!!!

I saw a similar issue on a crime caught on tape TV show. One party set up a camera and intentionaly caused an accident to attempt to incriminate the other party, who had been using the entrance to the drive as an exit or something along those lines. Well you know what happens when rednecks fued.. they both pulled pistols and started blasting. All good fun untill one got it in the chest. Justice isn't without irony. The guy who set up the video tape to incriminate his neighbor was the one who got killed and the video helped to prove self defense.

Dunno what all that has to do with the shopping site, but I thought I'd share.

Trying a legal manuever against Andale is probably more trouble than its worth, but sometimes the threat of one is enough to get things done.

You'll get more with a kind word and a knife than you will with a kind word.
 
My neighbor is known all over the county. He is hated by nearly all. I was friendly to him because I judge men by myself. He can't reach his own front door or garage without driving on my land but has decided to cut through some BLM instead and park in his backyard. He had no phone, no water, and small animal bones litter his drive. I accept poaching for food by some people some of the time, but cannot accept killing game and leaving it on the ground, which according to a witness this man did with a buck. He can't read, but likes to quote the law, (I've written job apps for him.) and picks trouble with all. He likes the trouble for its own sake, like an 8 year old that never grew up. Because he blocked the drive once my wife at 40, 4 months pregnant, walked down an ice covered hill in the dead of winter to reach her car. I cannot forgive this. I do not wish to go to Deer lodge pen. I will not.

Hope you have more luck with yours. They at least have some logic; they want money. They've done you and your customers wrong and interferred with your business. I have to go to court the first time in my life, but I'll win. The damn shame is unless you have some money laying around to piss into the wind you go without justice.

Sorry for going on, we all face stupid challenges. Someone,please! Take mine!

I have heard that 5 gallons of gas/diesel works wonders on problems such as this.

Just hearsay you understand......
 
someone told me, one of the sherrifs, I think, (no one likes this guy!) that this is the number one source of trailer fires in the south.

should be back up - took a while to sort out. Had to find which address would really work (as I didn't see the top message of this thread until now...). I think everything is back to working again, though why andale decided to suddenly change things is beyond my ken.

quick question, on my computer the images on khukuri 1, khukuri 2 and swords aren't loading in (though I can type in the names and they load fine?!) - I think this is just my computer being difficult again, but can someone verify this for me?

p.s. I used a different address from above, for the main shop link, http://stores.andale.com/himalayanimports as I suspect it should be more stable.
 
The error message I recieved last night indicated that they were working to correct a problem with images not loading. Perhaps they were working on the site and had to move it for a while? Hard to understand why they couldn't notify the owner(s) of the shopping sites.

Just checked the site and all seems to be in order.
Site loads Ok Pics load OK Shop loads OK Buy Now works...
(not that I bought another khukuri to find out...at least not again today!)
 
Got an email from Andale saying, "We didn't change the name of your store." I wrote back saying, "you idiots. I didn't say you changed the name I said you changed the url address and included both old and new addresses in my original email."

Somebody had to do something. Url addresses seldom change on their own.

Everybody write Andale an email and complain. We have to get satisfaction some way.
