The first batch of blades (~55) has been sent to Paul Bos for heat-treat.

The countdown begins!!!

Looking at 2-2.5 weeks till I get them back, and a week to finish out the first 15 or so...

...which means you guys at the top of your list might just get yours in time for the Holidays!

Hooray!! It'll be a Merry Xmas in Virginia. :D;)

Jeff - great question. We're setting it at 60. In our testing, that's been the best performance, and that's what Crucible Steel says is the "sweet spot", ideal setting, etc.

It's possible to push it up to 62, and also drop it down to 58. With the former, it would be incredible edge-holding...I was tempted by this, but then sharpening would be quite difficult. With the latter (58) I wasn't as tempted....I thought about doing it at 59 for added toughness...but really the slenderness ratio of this particular design doesn't make it necessary to add toughness to what is already a tough steel.

I've done 60 before and I know I can count on it.

Seems the most user-friendly.

60 sounds just the ticket.
62 would make it a b....tard to sharpen in the field. Particularly for me being sharpening challenged :o
