Have to say first of all, I don't care how beautiful the knife is, I am going to use it often. I have owned Strider knives, CRK's, Customs, etc. and with most of them, I want to tuck them away in a special pouch somewhere and gingerly carry them. Ironically enough, with Busse knives being equally expensive (if not more), I feel no compunction to baby them. I think that's one of the reasons I've gone so nuts for them lately. Got my first one a month ago and now have 5 and waiting to see if I can get the 6th with the latest Gaanza.
All that being said, I love the look the the G10 and Micarta designs on the knives. It's what drew me to them to begin with, but there's something about the basic series that is so comfortable and so inviting that I find they're among my (if not the most) favorites. Ergonomics are awesome, grip is fantastic, and every Basic I have is a "LE" version so I got INFI blades to boot.
Granted I've only ever held the SAR series and an ASH (hopefully an NMFSH LE soon as well) so I may be speaking out of some level of ignorance, but the Basics seem to be the under-rated, over-built, high-value, utilitarian line and I have to say I love 'em.
Your thoughts?
