Being a mere Piglet/Porkrind and all I'd like to hear some reasons for and against it before I vote. Not a debate at all. But just some opinions. At first glance it seems like a good idea to me. But then some other brothers, whom I respect, seem to be against it. Any thoughts?

My first thought is that since Busse fanatics make up a big chunk of the FS posts, and the fact that we sort of have our own unique way of bumping and such, having our own forum would get us out of the way of others. That was one of the leading reasons for me. I do not want to make things more difficult on the mods or Spark or other members while still being able to
enjoy the way we do things.

i think the most common argument against is, it is not our choice. it would be the result of complaints from those selling other brands/makers.

I would think that the isolation in a separate forum would have a negative impact on Busse knives.

Major corporations value their trade marks pretty much by discounting their advertising costs. Advertising equals exposure. Exposure equals sales.

So do you want Busse to have more or less exposure? If you don't care you should reconsider.

Now it would be interesting to have our own sales forum and see if the prices fall or stay the same.

excellent points. im not business minded so i hadnt considered your points.

im thinking there is good and bad.

good: only one place to go for all your busse needs.
we can probably chat a little there (if you think thats good)
prices drop a bit, maybe

bad: limited busse exposure to others who are unfamiliar
gotta go somewhere else to see other stuff

but since it usually takes someone complaining to a mod about, say, chatter, then its less likely that a thread will be locked or a looker/buyer will be disciplined. since we are less likely to tell on each other.

I'm a newcomer to Busse so I can still remember being on BF but with no interest in Busse . I remember noting a lot of busse for sale. But it took me approximately .0003 seconds to skip over to the next ad's subject line.

I'm really confused why this is such a big issue. With people throwing around rhetoric like "cluttering" "bogging down" "overwhelming traffic". It takes me less than a minute to browse the production knives for sale forum in the morning.

I'm an impulse buyer from $10 moras to $500 busses. I think the buck only knives for sale forum is bad for the Buck sellers and the company. Most likely I would've bought a Buck on impulse by now if they were on the regular for sale forum, which might have led to other bucks. But out of sight out of mind.

So I'm torn. I didn't think things needed fixing. But if a busse for sale forum will stop stop the whining and we'll be able to have fun again..........
