thanks in advance! :o :)

Micarta Calypso Jr was the first, started out as the CX03 Experimental I believe around '97, became the C52, no difference except the box, Came in both SE and PE all in AUS-8.

Stainless version followed very shortly thereafter. Same deal, CX04 Experimental to C52 with no changes except the box label, SE and PE made, AUS-8 steel.

Black FRN version came out in '99, also in both SE and PE. All I have ever seen are VG-10, although that timeline seems a bit early for that steel.

Not sure of total production on any of those three. From what I've been lead to believe, none were wildly successful, so perhaps a couple 1200 unit runs of each, tops?

Grey FRN, in PE only VG-10 came out in '03. First run of 1200 sold so well that at least a second, and possibly a third were done.

Current version in burgundy FRN and ZDP-189 is PE only and, unless history repeats itself, is slated to be 1200 pieces.

On the VG-10 I know what you mean about early. Maybe sal did the same with that model that he is doing with the ZDP-189. As for locating some get to john F Jensen's. he had 2 or 3 variations of these last time I was there. Good luck I have all pe's except the micartas.

Funny Chris, that exact thought crossed my mind as I was writing my comment.

...and the fullsize Calypso was one of the earliest to use the new VG10 steel.
