looks like it's tapering off. I doubt if any on the ebay now will go over $200.00 as everybody is looking to unload. That is still a lot, ha??

even at $200 thats quite a good return about three times what I paid for mine, wish I had bought several but, hindsight is always 20/20.:)

Amazing what people will pay isn't it? I just ordered a nice custom for about that, but I guess you can't put a price on collectibility if that's what you're after!

I knew when I saw one go for $270 that I should NOT list. You can't time the market. People try and only increase supply. I bet the remaining knives don't fetch more than $150, still not bad. Great knife though. I only wish I'd bought more.

It is a great little knife. I really like the blood-red handle.

I'm just wonder what my carbon fiber Military s30v limited edition is worth?

The last 3 on ebay averaged 230.

I think they've just settled out at $150 on average. Still pretty volatile pricewise, but definitely coming back down closer to reality.

The funny thing is that Sal and his guys sold these 600 or so Caly ZDPs for about $50 each (I'm only guessing) and then this firestorm erupted on the secondary market. So this is like $30k deal for them on the revenue side. Think about it - only like $30k for the manufacturer. Take away their costs and this is probably a pretty skinny margin on this run of knives for them.

I bet Sal must be shaking his head in wonder over how the guys that bought his knives from retailers early made more money on these knives than he did. Hey don't get me wrong, I'm not busting anyone for their profit motive because it will always be there (and needs to be) in a free market such as ours, but just thought I'd throw this perspective out there. Ironic, isn't it?

I see your point Slatts, but I think Sal was going more for information rather than profit, otherwise he would have made it a full time run (which of course would have kicked the secondary market in the nuts as far as outlandish prices). The problem was that he was unsure if ZDP was what the market wanted....now he knows! :D

I think part of the reason was that ZDP was new and people were reluctant due to the high carbon content(chipping was feared). Plus the fact it was sold really cheaply, almost half the msrp at some dealers. Guess if it was a regular run it would have taken off after a month or so when people has used it. Anyway, more ZDPs are coming.Prices have come down though on ebay.

I sold one for about $220 so it looks like I unloaded before the bottom fell out of the market. Speaking of bottom falling - anyone noticed the decline in price of the 806D2 and 806SD2's?
