Camillus of questionable origin

I apologize right now for my lack of skills in the photo area- they suck, but it's best I can do.
Anyway, I have a Camillus(?) with tang stamps- Sword Brand on shield side/Camillus Cutlery Co Camillus NY USA (4line)on the pile side. It is a GREAT little Senator pattern that takes an easy edge and holds it well. The bone is very nice and other than a spot on the pile side of the main blade that looks like slug filled hole, it is in great condition. Now for the questionable origin- and again I apologize for my lack of skills, I know good pics would help- On the shield side the Tang stamp seems TINY the swords are very small, with SWORD above and BRAND below. On the pile side tang stamp the letters seem shallow (as does the Sword Brand stamp) and "Camillus NY" is spelled "CAMILUSNY". Is it fake? Why would some one go to the trouble? Anyway here's the knife and a shot of it with a 61 pattern in MOP.

Now I'm not complaining, I love this little guy- just curious as to other opinions more learned than mine.
EDIT: To add- I have looked at the dating and it would be around 1941-1946. And, Camillus is spelled with only one "L". Also, I just touched the tang of the secondary blade with a q-tip soaked with malt vinegar- not patina. Stainless?

Thanks very much and All the Best
Dave
