I saw a couple of Camp King camp-style knives and was wondering if they were any good? They were owned by a few Amish I met today.
Who makes them?

Imperial made a Kamp King knife (Kamp with a K) in Providence Rhode Island and possibly (later) by Imperial Ireland. The Kamp King is a fairly inexpensive scout type knife with stamped metal handles that have a covering of thin black rough plastic. They have a spear blade, an awl, a can opener, and a screwdriver/cap lifter. The blade on mine is carbon steel. They are actually a decent knife, especially considering thier cost.
My first pocket knife was a Kamp King my Grandfather gave me out of his tackle box. After the backspring broke I foolishly threw it away and the one I have now is a reminder of Grandpa.

Early Kamp King's were great knives. I have a Hammer Brand (Imperial made) one from the early 1950's that's one of my favorites. Unlike most I've seen, only the bolsters are stamped sheet metal. The scales are solid plastic. Maybe celluloid? Its a very sturdy knife. One of these days, once I decide what I want the scales to be, its going to be made into a shadow pattern.

The old Kamp Kings were the Rough Rider Camp knives of their day. Rugged, well made, low priced knives that anyone could buy.
