Hey all. I'm not new to the blade forum, but this is the first time I've posted on the "hawks" section. Actually, I just found it the other day while exploring the site. Haha.
Anyway, I have a tomahawk from Atlanta Cutlery. It is the Standard Tomahawk Pipe (letter E, second from the top if the picture posted).
However, my problem is, right after I bought it and began throwing, the handle broke, so like any good thrower in training, I just bought another handle and continued to practice. After several sessions, though, I found small cracks starting to develop in the eye on the side of the blade cracking toward the blade. I believe this is because the hawk was folded to make the eye while being forged. The cracks are now about 1/4" long on both the top and the bottom of the eye.
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone out there would know of where I could go to get my hawk fixed, or be willing to do it themselves for some price yet to be discussed? I have considered trying to find a welder to weld the cracks for me, and also maybe weld the inside of the eye to make it a little stronger and slim down the eye a little (it is a little large and won't take most handles around here easily).
I did buy one of Atlanta Cutlery's "Competition Hawks" and it has served me well so far. I've used it a lot, and only had to replace the handle once that I remember. However, I would like to get my nicer looking hawk back into service as soon as possible. I am also in the market for a nice spiked hawk if anyone is selling.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions or help.
