Can Damasteel Corrode?

If so, does it corrode easily and what is the best way to prevent it? Thanks in advance.

corrosion resistance is about in line with ats 34

all knife steels can rust. Then have plenty of iron and carbon in them....that is the thing that makes it high carbon tool steel, and the reason they can oxidize.

In a word...Yes..Under normal conditions it is not too bad but in severe conditions it will corrode, otherwise we could not etch it to bring out the grain.

Hi Mellow....

I've got a half a dozen or so blades in Damasteel,,and haven't had any problems with it at all...

A couple of them I've put a clear coat Nitro on them and it has held up well giving it an almost 3D look..
