FOR NOW, my main field knife is a KOA Camp knife. I notice a lot of descriptions for that knife call the blade 6". Sure enough there is 6" of metal beyond the handle but some of that is the finger choil.

The actual cutting edge length is more like 5".

Can anyone tell me the actual cutting edge of the RC 3 and 4 (and heck, even the 6)??

Oh, and after looking at my $$s, I may be getting an RC4 quicker than I thought!!! Maybe as soon as next month! (Izula inbound) :) HAPPY HAPPY!

The measurements on the RAT web site appear to be very accurate. For instance, I just checked the cutting edge on one of my RC-4's (plain edge) and it does indeed measure just a bit over 4". I'm too old to count hundredths of an inch on my ruler but RAT says the cutting edge is 4.06" and I'll swear it's true. :)

Oh that's not necessary at all... LOL Thats close enough. LOL

Ok, as long as I know the numbers on the RAT site are accurate that's helpful!

Like I said, I think even the KOA site calls that knife blade 6". I guess it TECHNICALLY is.. but Im more concerned with cutting length.

At least all this is helping me decide.

RATs are generally the number is the cutting edge, and then + half an inch for the choil. except for the rat 5.

As near as I can measure, the actual cutting edge on the RC-3 is 3 5/16", the RC-4 is 4 1/16" & the RC-6 is 5 13/16".
