I bought a CZ 452, bolt action in .22 long rifle and for the money(250) I think it's hard to beat. The sights are excellent, it's sighted in out of the box (came with a very impressive test target) has almost no plastic parts. In fact about all the plastic in it is the bottom of it's detachable magazine. The safety works backwards, but I think I can get used to that. I'm pleased with it for the money. It's a very accurate little 22!

you can't steal one for that, I was looking at the 452 or a ruger 10/22.....great deal man!!!

May want to check w/Eric Brooks on shipping time frames..there was a period, maybe long ago, when he was not getting product out on a timely basis. That has nothing to do with his kit's quality which is excellent, IMHO.

I 've had a CZ 452 Varmint in .17 HMR w/ a Brooks trigger kitI installed for years an it is a fine rifle in every respect. I have or have owned other CZ rifles and pistols and they represent good value,,every time.

CZ makes a great rifle. I hadn't seen this model. I have always liked that style of rear sight. Simple and durable

I got my little Remington 510 targetmaster for 60$, its older than me but a tack driver. Have fun with that CZ, and Don't shoot frying pans.. they can fling a .22 right back at you... Fun.

They are wonderful little guns. As a dealer I must have sold hundreds of them over the years with hardly a problem.
I have also been lucky enough to visit the factory. A real mixture of new tech and traditional Eastern European Warsaw Pact knowhow:D
Have fun with it......:)

im looking at a CZ 452 varmint 21" barrel for like $450. they seem like such great rifles! i have a 10.22 and a savage MKII both in .22lr
im still looking to further the collection

I have the 452 with the Brooks trigger kit in it and it is fantastic. The trigger is too light for hunting but I am using it for the range and it is around 1.5lb pull. Accurate rifle with a great trigger. I understand that CZ has a set trigger on some of their rifles, I would opt for that it is would have be available when I bought mine.

Uhhh... Jill isn't a man. :)

Jill-- I'd be worried about the safety. If this is your only rifle, then you'll be fine. (I know this isn't your only rifle, though.) A safety is something that become second nature-- it's something that you don't really think about. You just do it. If you switch around with your guns, it's gonna be real easy to make a mistake. It's at least worth getting an estimate for having it changed.

Actually the safety is in a rather unique location of all the .22's I use. The only rifle I shoot with similar is a Winchester model 70.

The CZ 452 is one of the best bolt action .22 rifles in the world. Accurate, well built, reliable.

Look after it, it will last for generations.

At $250, it was a steal.

Good looking rifle. Thanks for posting that.

I had a pre-1968 Brno/CZ .22lr semi-auto that was both accurate and never malfunctioned in the 3 years I owned it. It was my all-time favourite rifle.

CZ has a great reputation in rifle and pistols and I am especially fond of the CZ-75/85 9mm semi-auto. If I ever get back into handgun shooting the CZ 75 SP-01 SHADOW is on my 'must get' list.

I often ask the same question about my CZ97B -- Can you find a more accurate, rugged .45 for the price :)

Sorry for going OT: do you know how much bigger the grip on the 97B is compared to the 1911A1?

Going by the photo on the CZ site it sure is a good looking gun and with 10rounds of .45acp cartridges would be good for those who like a few extra shots over that of the venerable Govt Model.
