This knife is a number of firsts for me! First Canal Street, first D2 steel, first in Ram's horn! I really like this knife, fit an finish are excellent and it feels very nice while using it. The ram's horn is very grippy and easy to handle. The blades came satisfactory sharp and are mirror polished, or as mirror polished as D2 gets. It is number 41 of 50. I am definitely going to buy more Canal Street stuff when I get the chance (and funds.)

I love whittlers and I love canoes so this seemed like a great one to get! I like the size, bigger than a standard canoe. I might have to get me some gunboats as I figure I would probably like those too.

I'm trying to let a patina form naturally through use, but this d2 is tough! Nothing fazes it. I use it on everything including kitchen prep and it doesn't show a hint of change.

She's a honey alright. Great score! Welcome to the curse of the ram's horn--it won't be your last!!

Standard canoes are 3 5/8"?? Is this a split spring or two full springs?

Btw... good looking blade.

That's a nice one. The ram's horn was a good choice. D2 isn't going to form a patina easily. It's a tool steel, but falls just under the cutoff of being considered stainless.

I like it. The Ram's Horn looks a lot better on this one than it did in the picture you posted when originally asking which to get.

I think it'd actually be considered a split spring as the master shares the two springs, which are split by a wedge to the secondaries. Congrats Mega, it's a beauty!!

Good looking knife.

Congrats!

Speaking honestly....I'm not much of a fan of Canal Street or ram's horn as a handle material. However, this knife is hitting all the right buttons for me. Nice pick up.....

As others have said....don't expect a quick patina on this one. D2 will develop a patina albeit slowly. I guess you'll just have to use the heck out of this one and hope for the best. :)

I've got one just like it, #31. It spends more time in my pocket than any of my other slipjoints. I really like the cannittler pattern.

I had one like that for a couple of minutes before deciding that the Ram was not for me and sent it back to Kniveshipfree in exchange for a bone handled version (and a trapper that I gave away here- thanks to Derik for the great service). I love the bone version and it is one of 5 that is regularly in my pocket. Great score!

I have one in Amber Bone
The F&F is excellent
Came razor sharp

I set the standard of Canal Street knives by this one!

That's a beauty. Mine is in smooth polished bone, but the texture of rams horn makes it a bit special IMO.
