There were three people on the HI forum this morning, yet I couldn't get through. Came back several times and was finally able to post, though it took awful delays. I am going now to see the numbers overall in Bladeforums. Would have checked this already but didn't believe I'd be able to get back to the HI thread in a timely manner.

Whatever the elapsed time is how long it took to view the home site and return. There were 119 viewers at first, (if I saw it correctly, and when I left 180. The first figure may have been enrolled members, and not counting guests.

I think something is wrong here in Blade Forums. Max visitors was on 8-5 with over 300. There are 4 people currently brousing the HI forum and the screens are hopelessly slow.

The forum is in the doldrums for sure. I have a hell of a time posting anything with a pix. The post ALWAYS ends up with the website not responding message but sometimes when I reload I see my post made it in spite of the message. Unlike HI where failures seem to lead to success it seems the forum is just the opposite and success leads to failure.

I've had my share of slow loading as well. It's not as bad on my 'pooter as it was on Penny's, but bad enough at times........

I've found that Rob's suggestion of right clicking your mouse and then clicking on 'Open in a New Window' when accessing the post of your choice is much faster than the normal way, it saves time on hitting your back button or going to next thread depending on how you do it, and just closing out that page usually gives you immediate access to the previous page you were on.
I even use the method when making a post and simply close the page after it tells me the posting was successful.
Rob's suggestion saves me a great deal of time, but nothing works hardly when the forums are slow and it's not just the H.I.Forum that has its slow times as I've ran across it in the others I browse as well and just as often.

Things got so slow on the forum this afternoon about 2:00 PM Austin. I just gave up on the forum. I had no trouble getting Ragweed Forge in NY and Jas Townsend and Son in IN.

Maybe just too many at once on the forums. There didn't seem to be so much trouble on the forum until the last month or so.

Like his site.
Recently bought several items, including a French Lady Hawk throwing ax
(which has a cutting edge orientation/geometry similar to a khuk.)

and a --Very-- neat little blade called a Kinnokniv (Viking origin).
The larger (my choice) has a 2" blade (5" OAL)
and I measure it at 0.95 oz and 5/32" (4mm) thick above the coil/scroll.
Thicker in the handle and tapers to a needle point at the tip.

Can't express how much I like this little blade.
Not substantial like a khuk, but still feels good in the hand.
Sharpened to hair popping in just a couple of light passes on a ceramic "V".
Edge hardness maybe 58----
very lightly scratches sweet spot on a villager khuk.
I'll give the page link since this item is virtually hidden away--
not listed with the other knives he carries.

Hey ! Is this a Viking trout knife ? :D

Yes, He has some fine looking hawks. There are a few I would like to have too. The slant on the lady hawk is close to the same on about four of them If I recall right. The Woodlands and kids hawk are a couple of very fast hawks. Ragnar told me that he picked out one of the kid's hawks for himself too. I can see why.. Lots of good stuff. I got some sharpening things that I have needed for a long time.
Talking about all these weapons, I think I have made up my mind what khuk I want nest. The littlest of the AK's for a go everywhere knife. The 12" Siru. is a good knife but, I want just a bit more weight. :) :D :D

"the littlest of the AKs"

Judging by how useful my Pen knife is, I think you're going to really like that 12" AK Pappy. The little khukuris might feel a bit dinky after being used to the big ones, but they're still bigger, and far more capable, knives than what a lot of folks carry. I've horse traded to get back my 12" Sirupati. Yeah it's itty bitty, but it was my very first HI khukuri, and I didn't know it was little until I met you and Berk at the Dog & Duck Pub and saw a 20" Sirupati and an 18" WWII for the very first time.  :D

Has anyone else said anything to you about having trouble getting from a thread back to the forum page? There have been a lot of times since they removed the forum jump from the end of the threads that I get a not found or information not entered message. Then the only way I can get back to the HI forum is to use my bookmarks list.
