Cap off handle?

or get some rubber melt it in a double boiler bought just for this pourpose and dip?

I have never tried this so I am just throwing it out there..

cap off the bottom or the top(where the hawk head is)

because if it is the top...the impact might be a deciding factor

Fill the handle with a spray in foam and then cap it off with a rubber plug like a door stop or something.

What model, what is the end material made off? Im guessing steel, if thats the case then jb weld. best fit I can think of is cut the tip off a plumbob for the spike pomel, then drill a hole through the handle and plumbob tip and insert a rod for mechanical strenght then epoxy the whole thing. You mentioned bone or wood so i really dont know what the handle material is made of, eastwing has many models

Im really just guessing here, im guessing you dont own a welder, brazing torch, or lathe. If you could provide more info about handle materials and how strong you want this fit to be that would really help.

glad I could help. dont forget the rod threaded throught the handle and pumbob, epoxy needs a mechanical foothold to survive impacts. Also if you have a drill you can strap the drill down and install a metal screw in the end of the cut bob then chuck the bob, basicaly making a third world lathe.

ps; this still is a really crude method, one of the makers hopfully has a better one.
