Hello!
I am planning to get one of those grippers to improve my hand strength. I did a little search on google and end up with these two brands: Captains of Crush and Heavygrips. Basically they are about the same kind of product. Someone says the heavygrips are better for small hands, but I have no idea how is its quality compared with CoC. Can anyone (preferably with small hands) share his experience with CoC and the Heavygrips?

I have 3 of the Captain's of Crush grips. I have the #2-#4. The #2 is the one I do reps with. The #3 is the one I am currently working towards "Crushing" and the #4 will just about kill you.

Also...very important: DON'T OVER DO IT!!!

I worked on the #3 for a long time one day...and ended up at the doc's getting my hand x-rayed. No gripping anything for 2 weeks. Go easy and consistent.

Also...the grips are knurled metal and will tear your hands up! I have tough and rough hands and they still manage to do a number on me if I practice too long. I don't know about the Heavys.

The COC grippers are incredibly high quality. I have the #1 and #3 (Still have yet to successfullly close the 3.), the quality was soo much better than I expected. SO I would reccomend the COC, and maybe start with the trainer and get the whole set.

Having small hands, as I do, certainly is a disadvantage in leverage with grippers. I haven't seen the Heavygrips, but I think the CoC range could help pretty much anyone. There are actually 7 different grippers now; if you're starting from not having much grip strength, I'd recommend getting the T (trainer) and the #1. If the T is too much, then you could consider the two new models below that: the Guide and the Scout.

I'm familiar with that popping noise. ow:yawn:
Still haven't closed my #3. I'm starting to hate that thing

Where does one get one of these CoC grippers? I've seen them mentioned here several times in the past and have been wanting to replace my cheap "department store" "heavy" gripper with something real.
