I finally stepped into the Swamp. Got a Bandicoot (I figured I'd start small and work my way up!) I'm not too familiar with the steel used in this little rodent. Since it comes in a leather sheath, I wanted to know if it's safe to store it in there if it's coated with TufCloth?

I've stored mine in the leather since the day I received it with no problems. As long as it is clean and dry when you put it in, wipe it with Tufcloth and you should be good to go :D:D

Thanks Eric. How stain resistant is this steel? i thought I read somewhere that's it's similar to 52100, which is more prone to rust.

It is a variation of 52100.

I've used mine a lot and I don't do anything more than wipe them off. I've had no problems.

If you leave it wet or exposed for long periods you might get a light orange rust, wipe the rust off with a scotch-brite pad and coat it with oil and you'll have no problems.

:D:D

I don't do anything more than clean and dry my coot. No problems at all so far.....I do live in a dry climate, however. A swipe with Tufcloth and you should be fine wherever you live.
