Someone had asked earlier about the new Manix2 with Carpenter steel.

I am pleased to say that I have a production sample of Manix2, Foliage green, CTS-XHP. Full flat grind with skeletonized liners.

This is our first Carpeneter Steel model. And a beauty it is. :)

Should be shipping out soon.

After recently buying a SE manix 2, I have come to the conclusion that this is my favorite knife of all time right after my military's. Unfortunately, I probably won't be able to get this manix nor was I able to get my blue Manix even though it was on pre-order :( Nevertheless, it is awesome that Spyderco is taking a great knife and experimenting with new materials. Also, pictures would be very nice!

Based on what I've seen from others that have gotten their hands on this steel and did some preliminary testing, this stuff may be the Next Big Thing.

I stayed off the S30V bandwagon and am glad for it.

Mike Stewart equated it to "stainless A2".... sharpens up nice and crisp with a little effort, very wear resistant, uniform grain structure, and tough tough tough for an above 13% chromium steel.

:)

CPM S30V is incredible, don't know what you're talking about.

I saw a link on Bob Dozier's forum that made it pretty clear Bob has a high regard for this steel. I'm way looking forward to it!

And S30V is indeed a fantastic steel. I don't have any complaints with it in a folder steel whatsoever.

I've been trying to pre-order this knife, but no luck so far. Looks to be a great knife and makes me feel less bad about missing out on the blue S30V version (assuming I can find a Carpenter one). All these cool steels that Spyderco keeps bringing us makes me realize what a lucky bunch we are.

Cool. CTS-XHP is on my new Hinderer XM-18. It is some really good steel. So far, I love it. I will certainly try to get my hands on some Spyderco CTS-XHP too! Thanks for the heads up Sal!

Sorry Sal, but after seing the Amsterdam show pictures, when I think of Manix all I see is the translucent one... :D
I want... ask... no, I demand one ASAP!

I'm really really liking my "original" 154CM Manix 2. I'd love to get one with a fancier steel and FFG. Wish these sprint runs weren't so small!

I think this knife is a dream to many including me! Another one for the wish list of hopefully future purchases when funds allow.

no pics yet?? and is this to be a production model or a spint run? If a sprint run is it as small as the blue G10 run was or will there be more? hopefully more with how well the blue ones sold out, you know if you make twice as many you will still sell em' all.
