Hey I am looking at getting a case bird hunter pocket knife for field dressing birds. Anyone have it or suggest a different one.

the hook would come in handy i guess. never needed one though. just a pocket knife for doves. most times i dont even need that. pluck feathers from chest, use thumbs to split the skin over the breast and reach in and yank the breast away from the bird. easy as 1 2 3.

I have a Camillus version. While it would be a fine knife for the field, I've never really had any use for the entrails hook. Fingers, while messier, are more nimble when it comes to dressing birds in my opinion.
But if you like the Case get it! I find it to be an interesting and somewhat uncommon pattern and well worth owning just for that reason alone. (And if you do, come on over to the Traditional forum and post some photos!!!)
