I just got this knife and i've looked at the case website and can not find a tang stamp that matches. i'm pretty new to knife collecting and would appreciate it if someone could tell me a little about the knife. how old is it? what pattern is it? thanks.

The pics are way to big so these are clickable links. Sorry new to forum posting too.

Looks like one of the Case Classics made in 1990 by Queen under license from Blue Grass Cutlery. Several folks here collect them and will be able to help you out.

Looks like my brother Blues got this one.

It is a Case Classic 85 pattern. Large Moose.
Think is those blades and that handle are not "right". Is the handle material wood?
It looks to me that the knife has been modified.

Thanks for the correction on the pattern number (I must have DR knives on the brain this morning.)

That pup has see one heck of a lot of use in a short period of time, they are very stout knives so that is what they were made for.

Goes to show how out of it I was yesterday. I actually own that knife pattern. It's one of only two Case Classics I own. That one I got from Jim Parker years ago and the other, a wharnciliffe whittler, from none other than my buddy, Bastid.

Guess I should try and snap out of this holiday haze. LOL!
