Did Case ever make a 3 3/8" stockman (like an 087) in either bolster style with a clip, sheepsfoot, pen blade combination? Thanks

When I get back home, next week, I'll check Knifeaholic's book for the history of that size. If anyone has the book, feel free!
All Case collectors, whether you have 10 knives or 1000, need that book!!

23087 Sh Pen in smooth black...discontinued in 1981.

6344 Sh Pen with square bolsters in bone then delrin...still in production.

Thanks all. I will try to hunt down that 23087 pen. I definitely need one of those. That red bone looks pretty sweet too Peter Parker. :)

I found the knife I was looking for on the auction site. Thanks for the tip Knifeaholic. I owe you one.

8 DOT 23087 3 3/8", marked 087HE on the back. Really a snappy little beauty. Perfect condition. Handle material is like an old telephone.

Congrats on the new knife Hal.... Hey wait a minute, thats not a Schrade :D

I've never thought about the scale material being like an old telephone before. Thats a good way to describe it

Schrade did not have this combination of blades, to my knowledge, in a knife this size. I like Case knives in my pocket too. I'm not sure, but still have not found this particular pattern and blade combination with another handle material yet.

Schrade made some 834 stockmans with that blade combo, but most had the spay blade. I have seen some Schrade Walden era 834's with clip, spey, and pen, others with clip, sheepfoot, and pen, and newer ones with clip, sheepfoot, and spey...seemed to be random.

Case also made it in stag...the 53087 Sh Pen. None were made after 1971 so they have a high collectibility factor. You could try to find a used one.

I have a few 834's in different colors, but none have a pen. Some spey blades are a little thinner than others, but no pen.

I'll bet that stag 53087 is really desirable in excellent condition.

After seeing your knife, it hit me that I haven't owned any from that series.
Its not a 3 blader like yours, but I just scored an early Case XX red bone 62087 in the exchange. I have a weakness for red bone and patterns with 2 blades.. :D

I would like to get one with black scales. White would be good too, but white is very hard to find and I'm not sure they did the 62078 or 63087 in white.

edit: I was in a hurry and left out some of my reply. After reading it again, it didn't come across right.

I think the scales are bakelite. I have an old kabar with that hard plastic.Nice knife.

I picked up a xx 23087he on the 'bay not long ago, an advert. knife from Pasadena Dodge. I lived in that town for 30+ years, so that was reason enough to spring for it. Nice size, plastic(?) scales. Here's my pic...

Thats cool MT. I haven't seen very many Case knives with adverts on them. Usually they used cheaper knives. What are the odds of finding one that is for a company, from the town you live...
