Does anyone still make a cattleman? I'm talking about an equal end knife, with spear point main blade. I would love to get one with natural handle materials and good old carbon steel.

I thought I had one for you until you said carbon blades. S&M came out with one in their series XVI line. VERY nice, but 420HC.

That's a nice knife. But I just can't stand stainless blades on a traditional knife.

He is looking for an EQUAL END, SPEAR POINT MASTER and NATURAL SCALE MATERIAL. Perhaps if we actually tried to find THAT particular knife he won't have to read through streams of knives that DON'T actually fit what kamagong is looking for. I'm sure we can all come up with carbon bladed knives of somewhat similar attributes.

You may enjoy looking at some examples of Cattle Knives in Bernard Levine's Guide (4th Ed.) if you have a copy or can find one.

Blues is right. A Cattle knife is an equal end knife. A stock (stockman) is a later variation of a cattle knife, usually with serpentine handles. If we stick to these standards, we will avoid confusion. Otherwise, we may as well post in Swahili!

Bulldog made a lot of those, no doubt still does. Search ebay for both new ond older Bulldogs and you should be able to find a few with bone, stag, pearl, and many other handle materials.

As Arathol indicates, Bulldog...also look for the Shapleigh's marked cattle knives sold by Parker and made in the Olbertz factory. Very nice traditional cattle knives in hammer forged carbon steel.

I stand corrected. I have done some more thorough looking, and all the "cattlemen" I see are equal-ended.

I blame AG for all this confusion on my part. I think he owes me a free knife!

:)(its worth a shot):)

Now why did you have to go and post a picture like that?!?!?!?

I'm going to need a 2nd job to pay for my knife habit if you guys keep it up.;)
