BF is a great place for the research on the latest and greatest. I've reading on the Izzys and how awesome they are. I never thought too much about it as I'm more of a folder guy. Last week I was at a local outdoors store and they had the Izzy. I've seen it on the web but never handled one. I fell in love and picked up the black coated Izzy with the kit. Its a lot smaller than I had expected. I knew it was small but it actually fit the length of my hand. The fit and finish were great and was shaving sharp. The first thing I did was wrapping it up in paracord. This gave it much more grip and comfort. I followed the instructions that was included but I found that method didn't provide much purchase on the Izzy. I wrapped it a la Strider style and it was improved. I still found that it didn't fill my palm. I re-wrapped it Strider style but with a black rubber core in the empty space of the scales. The grip is now a lot thicker and fills my palm.
This little knife has a lot of potential and I can't wait to take it out in the woods as soon as it gets warmer.

After trying a few different wraps I found I prefer mine naked... I picked up the belt clip and wear it at 4:00 an forget that it is there. Great little blade IMO...

Welcome to the club. I had the same problem with the Izula trying to find a grip that would fill the palm of my hand. I recommend getting the canvas micarta scales. They made a huge difference

Love me some Izulas. I have two regular Izys (one cord wrapped and one with the scales), and an II. I'm chompin at the bit to get a look at the TKC Izula scales that Dale said were coming soon. :D

The Izula is great.

What do you mean by black rubber core? Can you show a pic or something? Is it flat or cylindrical?

I was working on some weatherstripping last night. It was tough plastic and the Izula did fine.

The rubber core was one of those cylindrical erasers that I used to fill the space between the paracord wrap. It gives more heft to the handles. I'll try to post a pick later.
