Oh, yes.. the SE Harpy got to me today. snapped a few pics to help some folks out.

What struck me right away is how thin & light this model is. The thickness appears to be the same as the SS scaled Harpy, yet the weight (74.5 grams or so) feels less than that of my G-10 Harpy (which as many know is significantly thicker in the scales).
I was going to put it in the display, but I'm gonna have to order another, since this one WILL be carried! (PE model is still on order).

Where did you find it? I hope its priced as an edc and not a safe queen. It is #1 on my next knife list. It looks very thin. Nice catch

The pics won't load at very high resolution, but here's another attempt at a slightly larger image file...sorry, limited to very small images. I'll try to post them somewhere else at full resolution and get a link.

Going to try another method...

Thanx for the bigger pics. You know, months went by without a new release from the folks at Spyderco and now they're hitting us with all these "must haves" in one big burst.

This is a financial nightmare! :D

There's a bunch on ebay already. Saw one for $99 Buy it Now last night. Should have bought it at that price.

NGK's website already says "sold out" on the plain edge, and the only added them to the page yesterday.

I finally motivated and picked one up off of eBay. Thanks for the great pics and review. It'll help hold me over until it lands.

I can't wait to check it out in person. It'll be a nice companion piece to my CF Police.

Now I just need to get one in G-10 and the Harpy collection is complete. :D

Do you already have the PE SS Harpies in Left hand and Right handed versions?

No, I meant "MY" Harpy collection will be complete. :o

I don't own any SS handle knives. Can't stand them. To heavy and slippery. Personally, I don't see any advantage to SS as a handle material. I've checked them out but never purchased any. I like the stainless bolsters on my Persian and mini-Persian though.

Some metal handle knives are nice though. I do love my Ayoob & Navigator with aluminum handles. And I like the Ti handles on my large and small Sebenzas and my BM 635. That's about it though. I much prefer micarta, G-10, CF, even FRN.

I can't wait until the CF Harpy comes in. :D

Ah ok, I was about to get supremely jealous;) There's only a few SS Spyders that appeal to me(Adventura, Lava), but like you, the Ayoob and Navigator I liked, because they had more grip than typical metal handled knives.

You'll like the CF Harpy, it's gorgeous.:D

Are the carbon fiber handle scales slippery?

Yes Sir, I believe they are like my CF Police. They are very smooth, not textured like the new limited run of Military's. I'll answer for sure once it arrives.

Thanks V-1, if it is not textured it will not make a very good EDC IMH MBC would be out as well. Sweaty, maybe bloody hands??

looks nice...save pics as jpeg or jpg...the files are much smaller that bmp so you can use a larger picture.

Yeah, I wouldn't advocate it as a MBC piece.

If I want to carry a curved blade for MBC that's what my G-10 Civilian is for. :D

In some jurisdictions the Harpy is a better fit. I have 3 G-10 se Civilians, one of which is my edc favorite. I have a stainless Harpy for backup. I would rather have a G-10 Harpy, but would buy a cf Harpy because it is available, as long as the scales are not slippery. Check out James Keatings training vidio on how to use the Civiian for SD. It works for hawkbills large and small.
