I recently concluded my first purchase from Chai Cutlery, and found it to be a fine experience. James is a gracious correspondent and a refreshing knife dealer. He handles some lines that you won't find just anywhere, and then gives the "good karma cut" to charity when you buy. At least give his website a look! www.chaicutlery.com

I also received great service from James.
The "Karma Cut" is a concept that I would like to see adopted by others of us who do our trading here. It also softened my wife's reaction to another knife in the house!

Just thought that I would jump in and help heap praise on Mr. Mattis. In the past month, I've made two separate purchases from him, and have twice been pleased by his service. I'll agree that the Good Karma Cut is a great concept, and one that I'm willing to pay a little bit extra for if need be.
