Well. bearthedog's recent post got me to also take some pictures of my knife's changes through the last almost year i've owned it. I put a sharper point on it, thinned the edge out a bit so it chops, carves and cuts better. I also smoothed out the blade and handles/pins with 600 grit wet/dry sandpaper. The blade has no more belt sander lines in it, the spine does a bit as does some of the tang. The handle is extremely smooth and actually grips better when submerged in water or oily. I put a coating of car wax on the entire knife. The handles haven't swelled or split like i was concerned with in the beginning. No rust on the blade since i gave it a patina. Weird thing is, before i smoothed out the blade there was no rust, as soon as it got smooth and mirror like rust showed up. I resewed up the sheath and put some leather conditioners and cleaners on it, took out the extra stain so now the sheath is also mint. I smoothed out the sharp edges on the spine & handle so theyre more contoured and took the initial shoulder off of the bevel so it's smoother into the blade. Cuts like a laser and it's robust enough to where ive hit knots in maple and the edge has no deformation. Here's a few pics.

I love this knife... I said that last time you posted it up too. Actually, it inspired me to get one made almost exactly like this, except a wharncliffe profile and made with a laminated steel... :D

...once I get the coin.:grumpy:

I think i'm done experimenting on it lol. It's going to stay like that! I like knowing it's the only one out there (hopefully) and it's a full custom. I do believe john makes customs, but a custom in my eyes is a from scratch creation. I love his work though!
