Who here has experience with Charles Marlowe knives? I saw some of his knives in a new A.G. Russell catalog and they look nice.

I met Charles at the Denver PKA Show last year and then ran into him at the Blade Show this year. I had the pleasure of bringing three of his knives back to the studio for photographs. Only two were mailed back to him.I kept the left handed version shown below. This knife has been with me everyday since and I couldn't be happier. Even an old fixed bladed lover like myself has been surprised on how often I use this knife. The fit of all the parts are are close to perfect as you can get. The only problem has been that the action is so smooth that I find myself playing with it all the time.

Anthony, Marlowe comes to the St. Charles show also. He makes Randall style fixed blades, but he grinds with much more precision than the folks at Randall. The man is good! I believe he uses 440C and has his blades Bos heat treated.

Danbo, in the new A.G. Russell catalog, he has three folders with ATS-34 blades. Two are medium large tacticals, one is a bone scaled, spear point bladed gents knife sort of similar to a William Henry in concept if not looks. The knives look great to me.

I have had the pleasure of knowing Charles Marlowe ever since he first started making sharp sticks (which eventually became an obsession with knives) and I must say, he does outstanding work and has come a long way. I have in my possession several of his fixed blades and carry one of his folders with me everywhere. Great knives from a Great guy.

Yeah, I've been thinking of those knives ever since I saw them in the Fall 2001 catalog. Very attractive prices too - a full size bolstered folder under $300.

Anybody know if Marlowe keeps a website or an email addy where I can ask him about them?

Cheers
