Anyone seen these? I just ordered a Kershaw Ken Onion Leek, and it should be arriving soon. And as I stand behind Kershaw knives I decided to satisfy my curiosity and bought one of these copycats from the link above. It should be arriving at about the same time my Kershaw Leek arrives. I'll do a comparison and let everyone know all about the copycats, unless someone has already done so that is.

Yeah I saw one of those in a small fishing/camping store in Whistler,BC. It was absolute junk, dull crappy blade, and yet a blatant ripoff of the Leek. It was even "speedsafe" but was very slow and gunked up and didn't lock solidly.

Why would anyone want to copycat a leek? It's so freaking affordable!

Birthday gift for someone you like, but aren't willing to spend more than $20 on? lol.

On a side note though, and completely unrelated to my original post, I wish I'd bought a 1660 CB now instead of the 1660. Grrrrr...

By purchasing the Leek Knock-off, all you did is perpetuate the theft of Ken Onion/Kershaw designs. If everyone stopped buying the stolen designs, the thieves would be out of business. I don't recommend buying knock-offs of any kind, knife or otherwise.

6,50 USD for the copy. Still overpriced I've seen a similar for 1,25 USD and even that was not a good deal. These copies are terrible and unfortunatly very common.

the seller is breaking every ebay rule including selling knock off switchblades....hope the Ebay police get him...

You're right. So what should I do then? I wonder if I can send it back to the seller, maybe break it somehow and demand a refund? What say ye?

He actually called it a leek in the title of the ad. Send it back, demand a shipping refund, threaten to involve ebay AND Kershaw, since the name Leek is a) trademarked, and b) the Leek SpeedSafe design is patented.

Of course, most of that probably pertains only to the manufacturer, who is almost certainly in China, so you're probably tilting at windmills, unfortunately. Still, the seller shouldn't be allowed to call it a Leek.

I'll try that once the knife arrives. The thing that sucks about Ebay now is that you can't leave comments on feedback or something in that nature on sellers, but they can leave comments on you. And well, you know how some people can be real jerks.

Ok. I feel horrible now. And I'll be completely honest about this too. I didn't think about what I was doing by buying this guy's knife from him. So I apologize to everyone on here. I will do my best to recover my money and send this guys junk back to him. The main reason I got the knife is as follows. I bought myself a Kershaw Leek. I'm addicted, and I can't help it. I did this prior to realizing that my friend's birthday was coming up. He wanted a knife like it, and I'm dumb and poor, so I found these on Ebay and bought one to give him for his birthday. I realized after this and after posting on here, that that was really dumb and kinda selfish of me. Also, the Leek I bought is not the one I really wanted. I wanted the Leek 1660 CB, but couldn't afford it with what I had to spend online. As it was, I got reemed by the gf for spending the money. So, what I've decided to do is give him the Kershaw Leek when it comes, I'll send the junker copycat back to the guy or get my money back, one way or another, and I'll just bite my lip and sit on my hands until I can figure out a way to procure the funds to get the knife I want. Maybe Santa will see my good intentions here and leave me one in my stocking this year instead of coal. lol. Besides, I really wanted to get one from http://www.kershaw-knives.net/Kershaw-Ken-Onion-Leek-1660CB.htm so that I could have something lasered onto it to personalize it for me. If anyone knows a way I can get my hands on a Leek 1660 CB now without having to sell my soul, could you let me know? I did post a Trade offer in the Trade forum for Gadgets and Gizmos if anyone wants to see: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?p=5937742#post5937742
As you can see, not only am I a fool, I'm a desparate fool. Knifeaholism is bad for me. Any groups for Knifeaholics Anonymous?

Awwww. You scared him away. I hope I can still recover my money from him and/or return the knife to him, or should I just toss it? Since I"m giving the real Kershaw Leek 1660 to my friend for his birthday, I was planning on putting that recovered money in my newly made Save for a Leek 1660 CB Cereal box. Oh well, $17.99 for a learned lesson I guess.
