I got my Spyderco Chinoook and while it opens pretty smooth,
it is still pretty hard for one thumb. When you close it, the blade does not snap back in the last inch or so like my other lock back knives. I loosened the pivot to no effect. Is this just the nature of the beast? It is a BEAST you know.

I have a Chinook (boy, this knife is HUGE!) and it works smoothly :) It opens easily and it closes without any problems. So I don't think it's the "beast's nature" ;)

Mine also opens and closes very smoothly. I suspect you have a problem child on your hands. May I suggest sending it to Spyderco's quite excellent customer service folks?

Hi Ironman. I agree that it is not the "nature of this beast". You might shoot it to Mike & Keith in Warantee & Repair. Sorry for the inconvenience.
