Chive rattling

I have a Chive that I have had since about six months after they were introduced. When opened. if you shake it you hear a rattle and there is some side to side play in the blade. It is not the lock that holds it closed. Has the spring or torsion bar failed or a washer?

Is this knife too old to go back for warranty service?

This is a pretty common problem with the speedsafe i heard if you apply some grease/lubricant to the torsion bar the rattling sound goes away.

Have you tried adjusting the pivot screw for the side to side play?

Thanks, I will give that a shot. I have to stop and get a No. 6 Torx bit to adjust the pivot after work.
