Are these knives really that tough. I am sure I will get many different opinions from this thread. I was curious if these knives are all people say they are? What kind of waranty do they come with? How does the B2 42 Steel rank in comparison to other steels like ATS-34 and CM154. Has anyone taken this knife through knife hell.

Thanks in advance

I don't have one so I can only suggest you do a search. This has got to be the most discussed/debated knife on these forums. Every thing you want to know has shurely been covered somewhere.

Might I suggest you check out this part of BF -> Chris Reeve Knives Forum, as well as conducting a search for the topics you have inquiries regarding, as these are commonly recurring questions for this knife. I think you'll find some very favorable responses.

SEBENZAS ARE GARBAGE!!!

Let's get this fight started off right!

I am a Sebenzanista, and proud of it. Greatest knife I've ever owned. I know there are more creative handmade customs for not terribly much more cash, but I got the 'benza first and have never regretted it a day.

'course I will have me a TNT one day...

maybe an Apogee too...

;)

Yes the Sebenza is worth the money and lives up to all the hype. It is a great knife to use for EDC, but of course you will find people who disagree. I am waiting on my first custom, so I really can't compare to a custom, but it beats my production folders in overall quality.

Also the Sebenza is now being made in S30V, not BG42, but I am sure it wouldn't be hard to find a BG42 if you wanted. BG42 is supposed to be slightly higher on the steel quality ladder than 154CM(ATS34), and S30V above BG42. I like the BG42, it takes a great edge, holds it, and isn't that hard to sharpen.

ATS 34 and 154 CM are basically the same. The sebenza can cut stuff that is softer than the steel used in the blade. It has a thumbstud and a pocket clip. It has a good warranty. You can take it apart. It cost's at least A couple hundred. Take it from there.
