I'am really pissed so I'll just stick to the facts. I wanted one of his knives for sure for asking price.I was interested in another one.He said take both for X amount of money.I said great, I'll send out payment ASAP please give me address. No e-mails for a couple of days then I get a "Sorry about drop in communications, sold all knives to one person thanks, take care" I think this is crap, we had a deal he should have stuck to.I told him several times I would take the first knife at his asking price, he offered the deal for the two knives that I accepted. Not the way to do a deal with a fellow forum member. What do you guys think?
Thanks
Matt C.

Had the same exact thing happen last year. The seller was a big well known forum member.
At least no money was lost.
After 30 plus deals on the forum, luckily that was the worst that has happened to me. To some a deal is only temporary, they got you on the hook while they try to sell to some one else for more money.
Best to just move on.
He just called it a misunderstanding. Needless to say after a year I still feel the same way you do. Miss understanding my foot!

What? Another knife? Don't you have enough of those things already?
How many does one person need?
And just what are you going to do with this one that you can't do with the others?
What is the purpose of all these knives anyhow??

I' m sure it' s happened to a lot of us. A few times for me recently. After seemingly ready to close a deal after some very cooperative negotiations, "Hi, I sold it to a fellow worker" was the message I got the next day! Talk about geting hit in the face!

Then there are those who say "It' s yours if you want it. Let me know." And then they sell it in a very short time frame before you have had a chance to reply!

But with 100+ transactions it isn' t too bad.

Gonesailing said it right. Just move on. And keep your own ____ list.

Matt, this has probably happened to most of us and yes we don't like it.
IMHO he does not deserve to be written up here.
He didn't steal anything or misrepresent his knives.
This is the first time I have seen someone written up for backing out of a deal.
I hope this doesn't start a trend every time someone changes their mind.

Been there, agree with Rick. Not the best thing to happen, but no real harm done. Let it slide.

sometimes the almighty dollar is a loud voice indeed. it oftens drowns out the whispers of reason and muddles the clarity of online agreements.

bottom line, i know both of you guys and are "good to go" in my book.

seems like a misunderstanding in communication on both your parts.

i hope you two gentlemen can diplomatically settle your differences.

somethings not right here
I have done thousands of dollars worth of business with john frank, i've never had a problem with him, there MUST have been a miss communication here, john has sold me items, that while waiting for my payment he
he surely could have gotten more money for,
he never backed out!!!
john is at the top of my A-LIST

Here's the part that upset me.I told him I would take the first knife I was interested in at his asking price, he said he still had it, still availible.I said I would take that knife no matter how our other deal worked out.I felt that he advertised that knife at his price, I said I would pay it, then I dont get it.Oh well, does'nt seem fair, I just wont deal with him any more.Future buyers can read the posts and come to their own conclusion.

Thanks guys for your replies, its interesting to see how you guys felt about this deal.
Thanks
Matt
