This is something new for me.

The owner wanted a Shadow pattern Lanny's Clip in D-2. He specifically said he want a "Clean Looking" natural linen Micarta knife. So to "Clean" things up I put my makers mark on the spring inside. Here's how it turned out.

NOW THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT! That is great looking. Love the blade profile, and I even like the micarta, which I'm not usually a big fan of. Great knife.

Very nice knife! Very clean and purposeful looking. I would have chosen a different color micarta, but I think you have a winner there.

Nice work! Your customer must be pleased - I sure would be!!

Everything about it just comes together - looks great!

That is a great locking knife in a pattern that grows on me steady.
First time I saw it as a shadow and the simplisity realy suits the lines of the blade.
The blades on those lannys clips realy look,
as they should in my book.

"Lanny's Clip" refers to the blade profile. made "famous" by Tony Bose who made a knife with a blade like this at the request of his friend Lanny. many makers now make folders which they call "Lanny's Clip", but not having a T.B. Lannys Clip, i do not know how close to the original in size and profile theirs' are.
and, congratulations Brent. Very nice knife ! if customer changes his mind, you could always contact me.:D

Well Brent, when we talked on the phone about building my LC,I said I did not think this knife would look "correct",as a shadow.I stand corrected.
Another great knife & again,Thanks for showing us.

I agree with Vince, I never thought this would look right as a shadow, but it does. Great job!

Thank you all for the kind responses.

Tony is very generous with his patterns. If someone uses that title chances are that they have the exact pattern.

That said, this pattern does not really lend itself to the shadow design. I modified the spring and tang a bit to center the pivot pin in the handle material.

Vince, I think our conversation caused me to take a hard look at that design. After examining a pic of a Shadow LC by Kerry Hampton I determined that I would give it a try!

As for the sans makers mark. This will probably be my first and last.
To quote Kerry "Way too much work goes into these suckers to hide my name!"

Brent,

Looks like a great job grinding the blade! Overall a really nice shadow:thumbup:

I agree, do not hide your name!

Very nice knife & natural micarta (Is that what it is?) just seems to "work" on that one.
