Anyone know the thread size used on the Alemite Walker clip? I would like to move mine up a bit on the handle for a lower profile when carrying, but I don't know what drill/tap size to buy.

Thanks.

When I did one for a forum member I switched screws and put 2-56 size ones in. If you are drilling and threading your own you can just make it what you can find.

You need a number 51 drill bit to drill out the holes, and a 2-56 taper tap and wrench to make the threads. (get two taps they break easy) Then you need a number 44 drill bit to enlarge the holes in the pocket clip so the 2-56 screws just poke right through. I'd get cobalt drills in those small sizes. They last longer. Be careful to not bind the tap when threading because those small taps break if you so much as hiccup when turning the wrench. Just take baby steps and don't over turn it by forcing it too fast and you'll be fine.

Thanks for the info. The reason I wanted to use the stock sccrews is that I'm having a hard time finding other ones (metric or SAE) at the stores in my area that even come close to being the same size. I would just retap to a different size, but I can't find the screws.

I'll keep looking. Thanks.

Order what you need from knifekits.com, or texas knifemakers supply or Jantz supply and you'll have them in the mail. I think computer parts are very similar and use the same size screws for the cabinets of home pcs so you might try a computer repair shop local
