OK, first off, I know I need some SS hardware, but I don't have money for that righ tnow.
Anwyays, my order from Texas knife should be in any day here, and am planning on some more tactical style knives, using the black micarta for handle material. I already had brass and copper pin material, but didn't think it would look right in this application. So I went to local hardware store to get some steel pins, but all they have is regular cold rolled 1/8" welding steel. THis will work fine for me, but as it's not stainless, worried it'll corrode from sweat on them. SO I thought I'd use the cold bluing compound to make it resist this a little more, but concerned as to effect of cold bluing on the micarta. So who has done this before and wants to tell me what'll happen?
