I did not know these were out yet! I was in the Brigade Quartermaster store today and they had one! It is a great size utility knife and seems to have all the good qualities of it's big brother but feels like it would be much more at home in my tacklebox , glovebox, or backpack. Great size . . . way to go Cold Steel!

(I did not buy it because they wanted $5 MORE for the small one than the large one!?! Not the first time they have had goofy pricing!)

Hey Jason...

I just got mine in the mail from a good customer of mine...

The knife is quite smaller than the original and have checked a few places for prices..
One place the knife was actually $1.00 more than the original size..
This may be due to the knife being new, and would assume the price would fall as more and more are brought onto the market..

In all honestly I much prefer the finish that is on the full size Bushman better than I do this one.

The full size looks like a parkerizing of sorts while this one looks like black Tremclad paint, which is shiny and kinda cheap looking..

The goofy little African dude is still on the blade, but doesn't look quite as tacky as the full size version.

The sheath is well Ummm ,just like the full sized Bushman only smaller.

One thing I will say though is that it is a Great sized little knife, that would have alot of uses around the house, garden,or wherever..

A couple of these screwed onto some sticks would make Really cool spears for sure..

For the price you won't go wrong with it,,and it's Frigging Hair Popping Sharp right out of the box..

All in all, except for the paint job it's a pretty cool little knife...

So I should just buy the big one and grind it down??

Cold Steel sometimes takes a lot of flak but they, more than any other company, make more inexpensive "thrasher" knives than anyone.

These are made for one thing...having fun. It's like something made by Parker Bros. or Mattel! You can thrash them, throw them, beat them,...

Anyone out there ever made a spear or halbred out of their Bushman?

I just carry my Bushman in my backpack. But I am looking forward to the mini Bushman. It should fit in the glovebox just right.
I think I still might buy an Opinel #5 to put in the handle of my Bushman. Maybe.

If you need a sheath for either the bushman or mini bushman, look no further than Normark...the link to his site's right under his post. I can tell you first hand that his sheaths are the best, bar none. I'd love to hear more reviews of the mini bushman if anyone else has one yet. I am thinking strongly of getting one.

Hey CD...

Yaa pretty much anything decent is going to be more than the knife...

I've done running a batch of prototypes, and actually just got done doing the final fit on one.

All I can say about it is,, if you like the Bushman,, your gonna want one of these sheaths for it..They are Very slick..

I've kept the price down on them as well..
Haven't come up with a firm price yet though..

Probably should let sleeping dogs lie, but decided to resurrect this one, if only for my own post.

Full Tang Clan -- Muzzleup has a spear made from a large Bushmaster hanging in his basement. Scary as hell-looking. Think he had at most a 4' long shaft. Looks like with a shorter shaft, would be a fearsome home protection weapon.

Eric was very polite when mentioning the "sheath" CS sends with the Bushmaster. I was kind of wondering if we did something sort of like a pool -- you know, people guessing amounts -- as to the cost to Cold Steel for those sheaths wholesale, if they would let us know who won? I think using the word quality in conjunction with those sheaths is about as far a stretch as I have seen applied to that word. Makes it meaningless, if you ask me.

Anyhow, on the off chance something will come of this idea, and because it was my very own idea, my guess is $1.07. (Thought long and hard about 87 cents, but then figured CS wouldn't admit it if their cost was under a buck.)
