hi. Anyone have a "Cold Steel Spike?" Curious about them. Quality, usefulness, etc.

Seems like a steal at $24.00!!!

Thanks

I had one of the Tanto blade models for a couple of weeks. Found it to be actually much more useful than I had first guessed it would be. The blade geometry seems too fat, but mine would actually a pretty good edge and cut cardboard like crazy. I didn't much like the sheath though. It would not fit any of my belts, and it was too long for me to carry around my neck comfortably, so I ended up with it dropped in my pocket most of the time with actually worked pretty well.

I will probably pick up another one at some point. Nice cheap simple little knife.

They fit well behind the ammo pouches on the LBV. I would go for the tanto point. The clip points are pretty easy to damage.

Thanks guys for your help so far!

How is the quality of the steel? I know 420 doesn't have the best reputation...

Also, what do you use yours for? Backup defense? Or just a utility blade?

Thanks!

I use mine for opening MREs and cutting overlays for the most part. But I bought it for a last last last ditch back up. As far as the steel it will sharpen easy enough on ceramics, but it still needs the tough cloth every now and then.
