I was just thinking and wondering about how collectable the older Delicas will be as time goes on. They are such a sucessful design, and while I admit the new designs are improved in almost all aspects, I still have a soft spot for the old blade shape and design. Do you think it would be wise to keep a few of my old ones in the box for awhile. In your experiences would they gain value over time? It's also had some huge production runs, so maybe there are just too many out there for it to gain value. Cheers!

All Spyderco knives become "collectable" to some extent as soon as they are discontinued or updated. However, as you already observered, knives like the Delica that are produced in large numbers will not increase in value as much or as quickly as low production pieces. As an example, pink FRN Delicas with the integral clip, a relatively low production variant, fetch prices in the $80~$110 range on eBay in NOS condition and with the appropriate box , while in black FRN they can often be had for under $40.
