Anybody else received their collector Swick? Volpes are showing up and still no Swick here ..

Razz

I recently posed this same question to Ruth Durant with Spyderco sales department. She is now in charge of the collector's program. She stated the Swick was a "variation". I guess of the Spot. I really do not understand this. I think this is rubbish! I mean, it has a new model number and everything! I think the S30V version is a sprint run and we may get a collector version of the regular production model when it comes out.

No sign of the Swick, Apple Coral Kopa, or Volpe as of yet Razz. No indication from NGK that any of them are enroute to me either. Not terribly concerned about the Swick and Volpe, neither one excites me, so they probably will go on the block as soon as they arrive. However, I would like to see what the Apple Coral looks like and add it to the "set" of Kopas in my display case.

Well, they did the same thing with the Navigator II, which has a different catalog number from the original Navigator. Both the PE and the SE versions of it have "V" suffixes.

I know Paul. It may be they are just waiting for the production Swick to come out. I think if a new knife deserves a new SKU, it ought to be a nonvariant collector piece. Also, as I have stated elsewhere, I wish there was a regular production + sprint run option for collectors. Maybe I will mention this to Ruth.

OK ... I guess that means I won't get one with my number. This does sort of surprise me. New name + new model number no longer equals new numbered knife for the no variation collector program ??

I sort of have to wonder if this might be an oversight. I think I'm going to start a separate post on this to maybe attract Sal or Kristi's attention.

The part that has to be most annoying, and most confusing, is the lack of consistency. The Viele Jr was considered a new model. The Navigator II was not.
