Up for auction in a few days is a 110 that is described as "pre 1960"!! I would like to have one of those.

Ok bertl,

I'll bite....and you know this how....did you see it in your crystal ball? You say it's going to be listed in a few days and you know how the auction is going to titled.."pre 60", so you must be the seller? How about a photo.....just for education, I don't think I have ever seen a pre-60 110.

MB - 1964 is the first year. This is not mine. It is a listing on the bay for the 12th. I just thought it was a little less than accurate as a description. Buyer beware.

How do you know it's coming up on the 12th? Can you look at scheduled auctions before the listing actually starts? I thought only the seller could see his own.

There was a pre-1960 110. The 103 design was the 110 before it was a 103. This is from the 1957 Buck catalog. Could be this is what is going to be listed?

The picture isn't very good, but my guess is that it is a 2 dot or later. The knife is listed now and the auction ends on the 12th.

Now That is a pretty cool tidbit of info!

Plumberdave, your right, the 103 was a 110 in the early days. That will be a listing to watch.

Yes, the early 110 has been often discussed on this forum.

Interesting knife that you rarely see on e-Bay.

The 103 Skinner was first produced way back in the 50's. It was known as a model 110 back then. The first black phenolic handled skinner was made in 1961. Depending on the age of the knife, it could possibly be worth much more than the same 103 made today.

Thanks to Bertl for the info........made for interesting discussion of an unusual knife anyway--even if it's the wrong one.

Yes, if you get the Buck DVD you'll hear the Bucks refer to some of their blades as having blood grooves.

No problem with that. Blood is not a dirty word, despite what some people would have you believe.
