Just got Ralph Thorn's book today. It's not just informative, it's a decent read as well. Even if you don't plan on practicing the information in the book, it is enjoyable enough to read even if you just want to know how it works.
Well written Mr Thorn, hopefully this will help me. I threw for the first time at some trees the other day, it went horrendously, was able to find a set distance and throw, but that was all, and I stuck it only 70% of the time.

Thanks for the nice comments about my book. I tried to write it in an entertaining style of the kind that the publisher at the time, Loompanics, liked to publish. Some people like it and some don't, according to their sense of humor.

It's harder to learn my style if you are used to a locked wrist style. Remember to use wrist flip to propel the knife and more of a sliding release than with other styles.

In the beginning it is important to relax, try to have fun, watch what is going wrong, and get in a lot of repetitions. One day it will start to come easier almost by itself.
