I am going to be taking these two blades I just snagged from my good friend Dan and making a set of frame locks using the original blades.
One of these is a super duty S90V blade I look forward to trying out. Never used that steel but one other time. My friend Reese Weiland made the blade here with the opening hole and at first I was a bit concerned how I was going to deal with the bushing to fill the space to make my pivot. I thought to fill it with liquid steel and redrill a hole in both but then I got the idea to simply call Reese up and bounce some ideas off him.
He suggested he make a couple bushings for me using his lathe and all I have to do is measure the exact thickness or mail one blade to him and he can do that for me.
He even said he wouldn't charge me for it. That was super of him and unexpected.
I look forward to making me some nice users here making bodies to fit the original BG42 blade from a small Sebbie and also the aftermarket custom blade made by Reese. Last time I did this the folder turned out fairly decent. This time I hope its even more so. Stay tuned. Next break this is what I plan for.
Last time I snagged an old Sebbie spare blade it turned out like these pics with two scale options. My lawn mower mechanic now carries this knife, well that is if he ever found it. He tells me he has not seen it since they moved so he was concerned he lost it. Hmmmmm.
