Am I alone out here but I would like to see a commander in other steels like Cpm 440v or M2 or A2.
Not that i dont love my commander now but with better steel I'd sell my blood to buy another imediatly.

Any vampires out there?

I'll go for an A-2 blade but then I've also campaigned for a satin-finish Commander.

A2 Commander would be a hit with me. I
posed a similar question earlier. If we
put together all the people wanting A2
blades on their Emerson knives we might
generate enough "orders" to merit
a small production run (I hope).

I would go for three myself (Black-T 'ed)

Emerson likes ATS-34 and 154cvm. I don't think he would be willing to change steel for one knife in the line. He is still getting the production side up and running and it would not be cost effective right now to start using a lot of different metals. I would bet that if enough support is shown, he will probably offer different metals down the road. If cobalt, Talonite, and Stellite prove out, my guess is he would go with one of them.

Rumor has it that the original satin finish will brought back. No idea when this would happen or if there is any truth behind it. I guess a phone call to the company would be in order for an answer.

Whats the size difference on the Commander vs the Raven. Also does the Commander have clip holes on both sides of the knife for use in both pockets.

The Commander has a 5" handle and a 3.75" blade. The Raven has a 3.25" blade and 5"
handle. The blade of the commader has a much larger height from spine to edge though. The commander only has holes drilled on one side (the butt end) but I know someone who had Emerson change it to the other side.

Hope this helps,

Jason
