I mentioned this on Spyderco forum. While I got mostly positive responses, it was underwhelming. I am not sure if my title there was bad or people just are not into it but here it goes again.

My idea is for Spyderco to produce a sprint run of Moran FB01 to commemorate Bill Moran's contributions to the knife world in the unfortunate year of his demise. While forged Damascus, full tang would be nice, that is just not what the FB01 is. I think something simple like mirror finish black blade with a gold "Moran" and some natural material to replace the kraton if feasible.

What do y'all think?

I missed that on Spyderco forum, sorry!

It is a wonderful idea  and I would jump at the chance of owning one. It would be a fitting tribute to a man who gave so much to the knife world.

What do you say Sal?

Regards, Ken

Excellent idea, my only additional suggestion would be a return to the original leather sheath, perhaps with a special stamping if that would not add excessively to the cost. Kydex and commemoratives just don't seem to go together for me, but that's a minor issue really, as mine would probably never see the inside of the sheath in either case.
