Hey Eric,

Oh deliverer of happiness in steel and man of a thousand pictures...

Do you have pics of the Bandicoot next to a Public Defender? I would love to see the comparison.

Cheers!

Oh sure, you have to ask for a pic of one of the Busse blades I don't have...yet ;):D:D

I'll see what I can do, hopefully someone else can help us out here. :D:D

Yes.., thanks...nice of you to post those pictures...

Progunner,
Thanks for the help on this one. :D:D

I knew someone would stop by that had both and could supply pics :D

No biggie. My buddy wasn't using his digital camera for anything this afternoon, and I am on laundry duty before the wife returns from the West coast. It helped break up the monotony of folding clothes.:)

Thanks! I wanted to see the difference in terms of size and potential usage based on the design... can you tell us which you like better and why?

I am very fond of both really. I have been carrying the Bandicoot everyday since I got it. I did the same with the PD. I get something new and rotate them according to my taste that day. I would probably have to say that I favor the bandicoot overall for utility. I think the PD would be a fine utility blade, but I would definitely favor it for self defense applications, especially if I had some formal training. They will probably both be replaced by the Active Duty when it gets here :D It all depends on what you want it for, what your personal likes and dislikes are and what sort of budget you are operating on. I beat the hell out of my Battle Rat and I have no doubt that the Bandicoot is just as resilient. I have to say that the one thing I do like on the Swamp Rats is the double convex grind. What a dream to sharpen! If memory serves the PD is also double convex, but don't hold me to it.

Thanks again Progunner! I have the CT on the way and am now trying to figure out how to sell or trade my collection of Chris Reeve, Elishawitz, and Dawson for Busse and Rat steel! Guess I got the addiction!!!

Sounds like you are hooked to me. Get your gold membership to BF and sell them here or try ebay. It seems like things move pretty well in both places.

Guess I'm lucky in a way. Had a CRKT Crawford/Kasper Pro on order when I got turned on to the Rats. Well the 2 Rats arrived first (HR&CT). Been wearing the HR everyday if I can. When the folder arrived it just felt awkward in my hand. So I only have one knife thats been disposed. Still use it when I can't strap on the HR,but looking into a concealment sheath for it and the 'coot' thats on order.

Can't explain it,just feels so right in the hand. Like a good custom 1911.
