This is OT, but what the heck. One of the other threads got talking pistols (Long live the Glock).

So how many of you have a concealed carry permit and carry regularly?

I have a permit, but don't carry every day. I usually have a gun in the car and if I am out at night down in Tulsa, I am almost always carrying. And...since I live in the sicks...I carry a lot on my own property and enjoy plinking around.

Pics are good.

no conceal permit yet....but here is my plinkers

10/22's 30 round & 50 round clips and I also have the Tec22 which will accept the same clips....

I am a permit holder and an NRA Pistol instructor so I can put people on the same path, I carry everyday all of the time without fail. I figure I might as well always have it on me.

As a former LE Firearms instructor and CWP Instructor I do carry one in the vehicle at all times. However, I dont possess a Concealed carry permit myself. I live in SC and the carry restrictions on the CWP are so heavy that you can pretty much carry a firearm in all the places without it as you can with it.

That's just not right Beroya; especially with someone of your caliber background. Sometimes laws make no sense to me, like this in SC. I'd rather have experienced/qualified folks walking amongst me packing, than be waiting for the LE to showup 'after the fact'....which is not the way I envision a decent Society. take out the trash every chance we get until the trash stops reproducing....

I have a permit and carry when I travel, or if my family and I are going to a public place (restaurant, mall, park, etc.) When I'm by myself running errands, I rarely pack.

There are a whole lot of restrictions on places that you can carry, and it gets to be such a pain in the ass planning around those areas that I often just leave it at home. Always have a good knife on me, though!

I carry every day (ya gotta love Florida!) and have for the past 15 years. My edc is a Kahr K9. Seecamp .32 when I can't carry a "real" gun.

I also carry a delica, but am eagerly anticipating my Nealy Tung Pan....should be here Monday!

If I've got my pants on I've got my G19 on. Add a PM9 or P32 to ankle at work or road-tripping with the family and a '94 30-30 behind the seat. It's good to be in NC too :)

I have one and do carry, but nothing so blocky and inelegant as an Austrian Block.

It's usually a Ruger SP-101, a Smith M38 Bodyguard, or Colt Detective Special for me.

I don't fight motorcycle gangs.

I carry a model 27 Austrian Block on my person every day of my life. Not to start the classic Glock vs. XXXX thread but the thing I like about this ugly gun is I have literally stomped it in the mud before and it comes up shooting every time with no malfunctions. On one training course I saw a guy try that with his revolver and it didn't work so well. Yet another refused to drop his beautiful Colt 45 in the mud during the drill. With that said, I own a SP 101 that I absolutely love as well as a S&W Model 10 that was my duty gun back in the day. I carried a cheap Colt 1991 A1 for years before buying the Glock and it performed well after some tweaking of the feed issues and making sure I was running good magazines. I choose Glock now because I believe is has absolute reliability in just about any situation, has shot some courses under adversity and never been tweaked from the way it came from the factory. I may be wrong but I'll bet my life on it.

I have a permit and do carry often. What I carry depends on where I'm going and what the weather is like. I've found Ruger to be both reliable and affordable. If I'm off to the city I usually have my P95. If I'm stomping around in the woods or mushroom hunting I have either my SP101 or GP100. For weddings or fine dining I prefer my Barretta 32 Tomcat. :D

Guns? Knives?...who carries these horrible things? I simply keep the local police on speed dial and carry a note pad and pen to keep details.

Ah, who am I kidding...I carry as much as possible and believe everyone concerned for their or their family's well-being should as well.

I have one of those shiny things that make me carry one when I wear a polyester suit and they seem to like me to have one when I'm not in polyester.

CCW is a responsiblilty that all should take to heart.

I have always said I have nothing to fear from the lawfully armed citizen.

I usually have a G17 or G19 very close. I have been know to like a 1911 or two and a SP101 or several others.

Not that I own anything...

I carried a Browning Hi-Power for a long time and it concealed well. I also got into the Sig220 for awhile - .45 ACP in a package size that was similar to a 5906 I was carrying on duty for awhile.

I always have a Cold Steel Voyager Tanto on me and I've been carrying a RAT-3 often (got before the RAT Cutlery/Ontario issues) that will most likely be replaced with an RC-3 shortly.

A rifle/pistol/fixed blade/folder should be a mandatory. Due to operational security I can't say much more...:D

I have nothing against Glock that a total redesign of the ergonomics wouldn't fix. . .wait. . .my S&W M&P9 did just that.:D My M&P is my "Katrina" pistol.

The reasons I carry revolvers for CCW is are as follows:

On the street I am in "scoot before shoot and then scoot" mode, not looking to take the offensive.
Their grips are custom fitted to me and I just hit better and tighter groups with wheelies, even at speed.
A gutter sight and a Big Dot tritium is about as quick as indexing gets.
Revolvers don't have to feed, the primary cause of a jam on a pistol.
Revolvers don't go out of battery at contact distances or when jammed muzzle first against doors or car glass.
I am more deliberate with a revolver, knowing there isn't a bottomless well of ammo or a quick reload on the way. Every bullet downrange is your ultimate responsibility.
Five or six spare rounds on a Bianchi speed strip is way slimmer to hide than even a 1911 magazine. Reloading will have to be explained to the DA afterwards anyway.
A distant concern, but with my SP-101 rested, I have banged a 12" diameter gong at 100m 4/5 shots before, firing it DA. The .357 Magnum is a flat shooting round, even out of a 3" barrel.
No one will likely steal a revolver from the evidence room with a more "modern" auto pistol providing a "better" temptation.

I like autos just fine and were I cop, I'd carry one, but I like wheel guns for CCW carry even more.
