Dylan was inducted into the Georgia Knifemakers Guild today. I had fun making him nervous about the results of the judging, but he was a sure thing I think. He showed them 5 knives (personals, y'all bug him and buy those). And Sandy Morrissey made a sheath for his Bowie!! (I was supposed to post pics of this last week!)

Dylan's Bowie without sheath. More pics in seperate thread.

:rolleyes:Now that is an interesting interpretation of the Bowie.

Methinks Dylan is maturing quite nicely.:)

Congratulations, young 'smith.'

Yea, he makes a sweet knife now, but he isn't very mature.

This thread is great! And hilarious!

Congrats Dylan! Way to go bro!

Definitely an interesting interpretation of the bowie design, I bet it chops well.

Thanks guys! ...and yes, I am fart oo young. hahaha. Get it... fart.

I had a great time at the Guild meeting. Great bunch of guys and gals, good food, good plunder. I came home with a ...well, honestly I don't know what the hell it is. Some kind of pry-buddy thing that Scott Davidson makes. He gave me a blade blank to finish out. Also managed to snag some great handle materials.

Andy did a pretty good job of making me sweat the judging of my knives, but it went very well.

Congrats!! That's a milestone, Dylan!

Those Bowies are AWESOME!!! Makes me wanna hew something to pieces! What are those going to cost, and when are you going to make some for mass consumption!? ;)

What's the insert? Very nice effect!

Fine.

Now...go thou and makest thy blades, let them become fruitful and multiply, and the masses shall embrace you.

Nice work, Sir.

All the pics are up at Fotki Dylan. I wasn't sure of the name of the piece to start a thread. We need to work on the photo lab. Our pics suck.

i thought those were straight Kukris?

whatever you call them they look cool and should be great choppers!

Congratulations dude.

With sweet work like those choppers its pretty easy to see why you made the grade.

Keep it up.
