Congratulations to Sal! Cutlery Hall of Fame!

To Sal and Forumites:

I just wanted to offer my congratulations to Sal Glesser, CEO of Spyderco, as well as inform Forumites of his recent induction into the "Cutlery Hall of Fame". I've asked myself for the past few years, When are they going to induct Sal? Well they just have and this honor is well deserved.

In my opinion Sal deserves sole credit for introducing the innovations of one hand opening as well pocket clips. Many were skeptical of Spyderco knives when they were first introduced, but now the vast majority of factory and custom knife makers have incorporated these two innovations into their products (If not they don't sell too many knives).

In regards to this, I believe the whole industry has Sal and Spyderco to thank for these as well as many other innovations and contributions.

Again congratulations Sal (Omedito gozai masu) and I'm sure Sal would appreciate your individual congratulations as well.

Hats off to you and keep leading the way!

I missed this string from 6/14. In any case it doesn't hurt running it all over again in the General Forum for others who missed it.

I also forgot to mention another significant Spyderco industry contribution, "Custom Knifemaker Colaborations". Sal kicked this off first several years back with the Spyderco Terzuola. Now, many years later ever knife consumer, custom maker and factory who owns, or has taken part in a colaboration project has Sal to thank. Outdoor Edge currently has four custom knifemaker designs in the works. Thanks Sal!

The fusion of design and innovation that has emerged from custom knifemaker/factory projects is truly amazing and has created exciting new products, given greater recognition to talented custom knifemakers and has pushed factory quality up to the next level.

Again congratulations Sal and wishing the best.

Cutlery Hall of Fame? Why wouldn't Mr.Glesser be inducted, he's a shoo-in.
